Karl-Anthony Towns is a professional basketball player playing as a center for the New York Knicks. Born in Edison, New Jersey, Towns started learning basketball skills from his father who was a coach at Piscataway Technical High School. During his high school career at St. Joseph High School, Towns had an exceptional performance. He led his team to state championship victories in 2012 and 2014. His exceptional defense and strength on both ends of the court earned him a spot among the top players in high school.

After an impressive high school career, Towns committed to the University of Kentucky. In the University he played under the former NBA coach John Calipari. For Kentucky, he played only for one season and he averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. For his outstanding performance in the lone season, he earned awards like SEC Rookie of the Year and was selected for the All-SEC First Team and All-SEC Freshman team.

In the 2015 NBA Draft, Towns was selected as the first overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he has been a pivotal part of the team ever since. During the 2023/24 season, the four-time All-Star averaged an impressive 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game, showcasing his all-around skills and impact on the court. Towns' shooting prowess is particularly noteworthy, as he averaged 5.3 three-point attempts per game in the 2023/24 season, shooting an impressive 41.6% from beyond the arc.
