Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks visited the Washington Wizards on Saturday night to try to extend their good moment in the 2024-25 NBA season. Entering this game with a 21-10 record, the Knicks looked like a clear favorite over the capital team.
Towns is proving to be a terrific addition and it was easy to imagine he would feast against a team with only five victories. The Dominican-American big man was off to a fast start, dropping four points in the first six minutes of action, carrying the Knicks alongside Mikal Bridges, who scored seven points in the same span.
After only playing one more minute the rest of the first quarter, Towns took off in the second quarter, adding 12 points to his account, only missing two shots in the first half and finishing one rebound shy of a double-double. The Knicks won the second quarter by a point, meaning they entered halftime tied at 60 with the Wizards.
Towns went scoreless in the third quarter, but woke up in the final period, as the New York Knicks had to fight extra hard to beat the Wizards. He scored 10 points in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter to keep the Knicks close to the Wizards (109-107). He finished regulation with 30 points, as the Knicks' 29-point was enough to send the game into overtime.

Karl-Anthony Towns admitted he's still stunned by his trade from the Timberwolves
Last week, Karl-Anthony Towns returned to Target Center after being traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He shared his thoughts on the move after the game was over, revealing that he was still 'stunned' over that trade.
"There was no part of me that was willing to leave. And life had a different path for me. I was stunned. I’m still stunned I’m in a different jersey," KAT said.
The Knicks won that game 133-107 with KAT going off with 32 points, 20 rebounds and six assists.
"I'm an avid Timberwolves fan, so I watch a lot of the games when I get a chance," Towns added.
This move has proven a good one for New York and they look like a solid candidate to beat the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference.
