Then in February 2024 Bates-Diop was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade and then was again traded in July 2024 was again traded to the New York Knicks alongside Mikal Bridges. In February 2025, the Sacramento born Diop decided to join the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA)
