The 7-foot center, Kel’el Ware played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks and the Indiana Hoosiers. He grew up in Arkansas and attended North Little Rock High School where he made a name for himself and played in McDonald's All-American, Jordan Brand Classic and Nike Hoop Summit in 2022.

Ware was termed as a five-star recruit and one of the top prospects of the 2022 class and committed to playing college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. After his freshman year, Ware transferred to the Indiana Hoosiers who were looking for a big man after losing Trayce Jackson-Davis in the 2023 NBA Draft. He fitted right in making the All-Big Ten and All-Big Ten Defensive teams and is projected to be a first-round pick around 17-20 in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Kel’el Ware Points per Game Average

During his college career, Ware averaged 10.9 points per game on 53.85 shooting from the field 33.7% from deep and 66.0% from the FT line.

In his freshman season with the Ducks, Ware was a bench player and made four starts out of 35 appearances. He averaged 6.6 points per game, shooting 45.7% from the field, 71.2% from the FT line and 27.3% from deep on 1.6 attempts per game. He scored his season’s highest points against UConn in a regular season game, recording 18 points and nine rebounds while shooting 75% from the field.

In the 2023/24 season, Ware tested the NCAA transfer portal and landed at the Indiana Hoosiers. The center took a significant leap on the offensive end, averaging 15.9 points per game. He was shooting 58.6% from the field, 42.5% from deep on 1.6 attempts per game and 63.4% from the FT line. He started all 30 games for the Hoosiers and led them in scoring in the regular season. He was close to averaging a double-double for the entire college season and fell short by four rebounds, averaging 9.9 rebounds per game and 296 total in 30 games.
