Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a professional basketball player nicknamed KCP. He plays for the Denver Nuggets who are the defending champions of the prestigious Larry O’Brien trophy in 2024. Born in Georgia on February 18, 1993, KCP Caldwell-Pope is 31 years old as of May 2024 and is playing his 11th season in the NBA. He started his basketball journey in high school when he played for Greenville High School. Caldwell-Pope received All-American honors and appeared in the Jordan Brand Classic Game. By the end of his high school career, Caldwell-Pope was recognized as a 5-star recruit and committed to play college basketball at the University of Georgia.

After a successful stint at college basketball which included securing the SEC Player of the Year award, Caldwell-Pope declared for the NBA draft in 2013 and was selected as the 8th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons. Over the years, Caldwell-Pope came to be known as an efficient 3 and D wing and eventually won 2 NBA championships. The Lakers ultimately won the series 4-1 against the Nuggets and went on to win the NBA championship against the Miami Heat.

Caldwell-Pope’s second conference Finals was against the Los Angeles Lakers. With KCP playing for the Nuggets this time, the star power of Lebron James and Anthony Davis was inadequate to overpower the Nuggets and the Lakers were swept out of the title race.
