The American forward from California, USA has played over 15 seasons in the NBA and proven himself as a powerful forward in the league.

After completing his freshman season, Love decided to go for the NBA draft instead of completing his remaining college eligibility. He was chosen by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2008 NBA draft and was instantly traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In 2014, after playing six seasons with the Timberwolves, Love was traded to Cleveland Cavaliers. His nine years with the Cavaliers were the most impressive of his basketball journey where he was named five times NBA-All star and won a championship ring in 2016.

The 2018-2021 period was a rough patch for the big man, as he suffered several injuries including a hairline fracture in his right thumb and a knee injury. Therefore, all this hampered his performance. After a wonderful journey with the Cavaliers, in February 2023, he was traded to Miami Heat.

This offseason, Love became a free agent but Miami Heat re-signed him with a two-year contract extension worth $7.6 million.

Kevin Love at UCLA

Kevin Love decided to play his college basketball for the UCLA Bruins and looked for the Bruins legends, Bill Walton and John Wooden's advice to improve his basketball skills and game understanding.

Kevin Love is the son of former NBA player Stan Love. Kevin got to face a lot of criticism as he played for UCLA instead of his father’s alma mater, Oregon Ducks. As a response, the Oregon fans show negative behavior including, the death threats and throwing garbage upon the Love family.

In his only season (2007-2008) with UCLA, Kevin Love helped the team to win the Pac-10 conference title and to become the number one-seeded team in NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament. He averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds that season and had several accomplishments including Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and Pac-10 Player of the Year.
