Kris Dunn is an American combo guard playing for the Los Angeles Clippers. Born on March 18, 1994, in New London, Connecticut, Dunn attended New London High School, where he became one of the most dominating point guards in high school basketball. During his junior year in 2010–11, Kris Dunn averaged 26.5 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals, and 5 assists per game. He led the Whalers to a perfect 27–0 record and a victory in the Connecticut Class L State Championship against Northwest Catholic High School. Dunn continued his basketball career at Providence College from 2012 to 2016. His first two seasons were plagued by injuries, including shoulder surgery, but he made a great comeback in his remaining collegiate years. Kris Dunn was named Big East Player of the Year twice, in 2015 and 2016. He was also named to the First-team All-Big East both years and won the Big East Defensive Player of the Year award twice, in 2015 and 2016.

Eventually, on June 23, 2016, Kris Dunn was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He played for the Timberwolves during the 2016–2017 season, before being traded to the Chicago Bulls in the infamous ‘Jimmy Butler – Zach LaVine trade’, where he played from 2017 to 2020. Dunn then had stints with the Atlanta Hawks (2020–2021), the Portland Trail Blazers (2022), and the Utah Jazz (2023–2024). Kris Dunn's NBA career has had its ups and downs, but his elite defensive abilities have always stood out. As of November 2024, he averages 1.4 steals per game and has accumulated 498 steals in total.
