Kristaps Porzingis is a professional Latvian basketball center for the Boston Celtics in the 2025 NBA season. Porzingis began his basketball journey playing for local teams BK Liepāja and BK Spartaks in his home country. He took a bold step at the age of 15 to move to Spain, seeking to hone his skills and compete at a higher level. He played for Sevilla FC Baloncesto in the Liga ACB, where he was honored as a part of the Liga ACB All-Young Players Team in 2014 and was awarded as the Most Valuable Player of the month in Liga ACB for November 2014, as per ACB's official website.

Kristaps Porzingis was drafted with the fourth overall pick by the New York Knicks in 2015 NBA Draft. He made his debut on November 4, 2015, against the Milwaukee Bucks and immediately showcased his potential. In February 2018, while playing for the Knicks, he suffered a major setback—a torn ACL in his left knee, putting an abrupt stop to his season. Porzingis has since played for the Dallas Mavericks and the Washington Wizards. In the 2023-24 offseason, he signed with the Boston Celtics, bringing his talent to one of the most storied franchises in NBA history. In the 2023-24 season for the Celtics, Porzingis averaged 19.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. He shot 51.6% from the field, including 37.5% from deep and helped them a lot in winning their 18th title.
