Kyle Lowry is an American point guard for the Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 24th overall pick in 2006. Lowry is a six-time NBA All-Star and won the NBA championship in 2019.

During the 2021 offseason, the Raptors traded Lowry to the Heat through a sign and trade, in return for Precious Achiuwa and Goran Dragic. Over 55 games with the Heat in the 2022/23 season, Lowry averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He shot 40.4% from the field, including 34.5% from deep. Lowry is also notable for winning a gold medal for Team United States at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Memphis Grizzlies (2006-2009)

Kyle Lowry debuted in the NBA with the Grizzlies. In three seasons with the team, he played 141 games, averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 42.4% from the field, including 25.8% from deep. However, he was not satisfied with his role on the team and he was traded to the Rockets through a three team deal with the Grizzlies and the Magic.

Houston Rockets (2009-2012)

Kyle Lowry’s second team in the NBA was the Houston Rockets. During his four seasons with the team, he competed in 218 games, averaging 11.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He shot 41.9% from the field, including 35.2% from deep.

In the 2010/11 season, Lowry was the fourth player in the history of the Rockets to record a triple double after the 2002/03 season. He was traded to the Raptors during the offseason in 2012 in return for Gary Forbes and a future first round pick.

Toronto Raptors (2012-2021)

The Raptors were the third team in Kyle Lowry’s NBA career. Throughout nine seasons with the team, he played 601 games. He averaged 17.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He also shot 42.5% from the field, including 37.7% from the deep. Over the 2017/18 season with the team, he achieved 11,000 career points. During his tenure with the team he played six consecutive NBA All-Star games (2015-2020) and also won the NBA championship in 2019 with them.

In the 2020/21 season, Kyle Lowry achieved 10,000 points with the Raptors after a 3-pointer against the Milwaukee Bucks. He joined DeMar DeRozan and Chris Bosh as the only players to achieve that milestone with the team. In the offseason of 2021, the Heat received Kyle Lowry from the Raptors through a sign and trade-in exchange process for Precious Achiuwa and Goran Dragic.

Miami Heat (2021-present)

The ongoing 2023/24 season is Kyle Lowry’s fourth season with the Heat. Throughout three seasons with the team, he has competed in 124 games, averaging 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He has shot 42.4% from the field, including 36.4% from deep so far.

In the playoffs of the 2022/23 season, Lowry led the league in free throw percentage (.939). He will be looking to take his team in the postseason for the third time again this season.
