Kyle Lowry is well-known as one of the most well-respected veterans in the NBA with a highly successful career, which he carved for himself against all odds and criticisms. Born on 25 March 1986 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lowry's passion for basketball developed at a fairly young age.

Lowry played high school basketball at Cardinal Dougherty High School where he learned top-level skills and gradually improved his overall game, eventually becoming one of the best point guards in the state. During his senior year at Cardinal Dougherty, Lowry caught the attention of top college recruiters and was rated as a five-star recruit coming out of high school.

Lowry committed to Villanova University in 2003 and played two seasons for the Wildcats. Lowry continued to hone his skills and made significant contributions with his talent, averaging 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.

The talented point guard declared for the 2006 NBA Draft and was selected 24th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. Over the course of his NBA career, Lowry has received six All-Star selections, one-time All-NBA honors, and won the coveted Larry O’Brien Trophy alongside Kawhi Leonard by defeating the seemingly unbeatable Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Kyle Lowry height

Kyle Lowry stands 6 feet 0 inches tall. For a player of his height, his presence in the NBA seems out of place. However, the six-foot point guard makes up for his below-average physical stature with his insane skills, agility, basketball IQ, and court vision.

Being one of the smaller point guards in the league, Lowry uses his fast pace and body to get points in the paint and draw contact from forwards and centers which gets him two points from the free-throw line.

Lowry is also an efficient shooter from the mid-range but doesn’t have quite the consistency from the three-point arc.

Kyle Lowry weight

Lowry weighs about 196 lbs (88 kg) and is pretty well-built and strong for his stature. He is a capable guard who relies on his physical strength to get in the paint and finish, while drawing fouls at the same time. When he finds himself being locked down by a great defense, he passes the ball to his open teammates, allowing them to score from multiple positions time and again.

Having even been compared to skilled NFL running backs, Lowry’s speed and quickness are some key reasons for why he is as effective in driving the ball to the offensive end and creating shots for the team.

Kyle Lowry wingspan

With a wingspan measuring 6 feet 3 inches, Lowry is a decent defensive presence on the perimeter. He is skilled at stripping possession from players within the paint, can intercept passes and gain ball control, and uses his reach and agility to get steals. Due to his quickness, his short stature doesn’t stop him from being a legitimate, proven threat on the defensive end.

He is susceptible to the movement of taller, faster guards and forwards and an obvious height mismatch hurts him when defending against catch-and-shoot situations.
