Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player and as of October 2024, he plays for the Dallas Mavericks as a shooting guard/point guard in the NBA. He was born on March 23, 1992, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to his parents, American expatriates, Drederick Irving and Elizabeth (née Larson) Irving. Irving has two sisters, Londen and Asia. Initially, he attended the Montclair Kimberley Academy (MKA) in Montclair, New Jersey, and later graduated from the Patrick School in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Irving was a member of the NBA All-Star team from 2013 to 2015, 2017 to 2019, and then again in 2021 and 2023. He was named the 2014 NBA All-Star Game MVP. He was honored with the All-NBA Second Team in 2019, the All-NBA Third Team in 2015 and 2021, and the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2012.
