Kyrie Irving Trade Details
Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most skillful ball-handlers of all time. Some of the moves he puts on his defenders makes a fan’s jaw drop. Players from all over the NBA and the world love his game because of his fancy footwork and stylish finishing.

When it is an iso situation, Kyrie Irving may very well be the best there is. The toughest of defenders fail to contain him. Irving is also the owner of arguably the biggest shot that was made in the NBA Finals, which helped deliver its first and only championship to the city of Cleveland till this date.

Going into his 13th season, Irving is coming off a huge scoring season where he averaged 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. He has by now mastered almost every part of his game and on the offensive side of the floor.

Playing alongside superstar Luka Doncic, the ceiling is high for the Dallas Mavericks this season.

After switching and playing for four different teams, Irving said that Dallas is a place he could possibly retire in and play for the rest of his career. He was previously playing for the Brooklyn Nets but got traded in the middle of the 2022-2023 season.

Kyrie Irving Trade

Kyrie Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks from the Brooklyn Nets last season on February 6, 2023. The Dallas Mavericks received Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris. Whereas the Dallas Mavericks received Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, 2027 second-round pick, 2029 first-round pick (unprotected), 2029 second round-pick.

Irving recently said that the trade decision was one of the best decisions he made in his career. This is primarily because many fans and pundits criticized Irving for not showing up to work and constantly blamed him for the shortcomings of the Nets squad.

This is not a new topic as Irving has been involved in multiple controversies and situations that are not basketball related. This brought out a lot of criticism from NBA analysts and fans.

Kyrie Irving Team

Kyrie Irving is currently playing for the Dallas Mavericks alongside Luka Doncic. He has so far played 22 games for the Mavericks. While it is not a huge sample to count on, there were some minor problems for Irving and Doncic initially. Both Doncic and Kyrie are ball dominant players which caused problems for them in the beginning.

This season however, Irving has realized the mishap and has let Doncic control the ball more. Irving is resorting to playing off the ball which is not something you typically see him do.

Irving is happy and ready to find success with the Mavericks. The Dallas Mavericks are looking forward to competing in the playoffs again after not making the playoffs or the play-in tournament last season.

Kyrie Irving Position

Kyrie Irving primarily is a point guard, but can also play the shooting guard spot. In basketball terms, he is more of a combo-guard who does both, a little bit of playmaking and scoring. Irving is a pure scorer and can put the ball through the hoop in more ways than a person can create with clay dough.

He is versatile and can switch to two positions. Irving’s style of play is more of a shooting guard than a point guard because he does a whole lot more scoring than passing. However, Irving can also rely on his play-making ability when he wants to.
