The LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets will lock horns in Friday's marquee matchup on national TV. It's their third meeting of the season. Despite being shorthanded in Kawhi Leonard's absence, the Clippers won those previous matchups on Oct. 26 (109-104) and Dec. 1 (126-122).

Both teams are streaky ahead of their latest clash. The Clippers have lost two consecutive games and only have two wins in five outings. On the other hand, the Nuggets are coming off a 114-111 win over Atlanta but are also 2-3 in their last five games. Friday's game could go either way. Both teams will be bracing for a close contest.

The Clippers will hope James Harden rediscovers his mojo against Denver after dropping 39 points in their last meeting on Dec. 1. Harden also added nine rebounds and 11 assists.

He didn't shoot well overall, making only 39.0% of his shots, but remained aggressive and got to the free-throw line 13 times. That's the kind of pressure he must add against the Nuggets' defense to help the Clippers avoid a third consecutive loss.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets will hope to get more contributions from players outside Nikola Jokic, who has carried the team on his back in the last two games behind 56 and 48-point outings.

Ivica Zubac appears to be one of the slightly tougher matchups for the Serbian, so Denver's best shot to win this game may rely on his supporting cast's shoulders.
