The LA Lakers and Sacramento Kings tip off of the 2024 NBA Summer League season at Chase Center on Saturday. The Lakers will be a team in focus with prospects like Dalton Knecht and LeBron James' son Bronny James expected to suit up.
Meanwhile, the Kings will have a fresh set of players in action. Sacramento also has another roster for the Summer League that will play China at the Golden 1 Center later in the night.

LA Lakers
The Lakers enter a new era under rookie coach JJ Redick's leadership. One of the areas of focus for the team is the internal development of players under Redick's system. LA has shown plenty of reluctance to be over the second apron, changing its historic stance on recruiting superstars.

The new plan seems to have begun well, as the Lakers drafted Dalton Knecht with the No. 17 pick. A four-year college prospect, Knecht, is expected to make an instant impact on the team in his debut season. Another player in focus would be LeBron James' son, Bronny James.
He has too many doubters to prove wrong after landing a guaranteed $7.9 million contract with the team. The Lakers also have another exciting prospect in Maxwell Lewis, who enters his second year and is viewed as a long-term core player.

Sacramento Kings
The Kings have several exciting prospects, but the most prominent ones will be in action at the Golden 1 Center, including Keon Ellis, Colby Jones, and Drew Timmer. The squad playing against the Lakers does have a few renowned names.
Jordan Ford, Xavier Sneed and former Laker D'Moi Hodge are part of this group. The Kings '2' have some relatively older prospects looking for a roster spot. It could be a highly competitive game from Sacramento's side. The team has found some solid players via the Summer League previously.

LA Lakers vs Sacramento Kings Prediction
It's the first game of the Summer League between two exciting teams filled with young talent. The Kings' stronger team will be in action elsewhere, though. The Lakers might have the upper hand here, with Dalton Knecht, Maxwell Lewis and Colin Castleton leading the way.
All three are touted to make LA's rotation in the upcoming season, prompting them to bring their 'A' game for Saturday's Summer League opener.
