They lost in 2008 Game 6 heavily, and they smothered Celtics to a playoff-low score in Game 6 2010. It was Bryant leading the way all over again, in what can be said to be a breakaway game for the Laker team.
First, the defense! Kudos to every yellow jersey for putting in that extra effort on the board and stopping nearly every lay-in, forcing the Celtics to a meager 33% shooting. Next, the bench minutes! We have been seeing all series long, about the importance of bench points as opposed to superstar playmakers on both sides. Today, the Lakers put all questions down with the bench rising to the occassion bigtime.

By the 3rd quarter, the bench score was 24-0 in favour of LA. Third, all the LA bigs played like one, complemented each other, and put up valuable numbers, taking much of the offensive load off Kobe’s shoulders. The dominant display by LA was characterized by a 1st quarter up-tempo game of scoring and defending leading to each other. The Celtics had absolutely no answer to this team defense and they also ran into a strand of hard luck, with Perkins getting injured and off the game near halftime.
His knee was x-ray-ed and it is still uncertain whether he will play the Game 7 in LA on Thursday!
Meanwhile, history beckons. The two most storied franchises in NBA history have battled it out hard and pulled off even in the end. It all comes down to the decider: Game 7 on Thursday night; Let’s see which of these tough teams survives to the last!
The Celtics have bounced back all season long, and will certainly hit back hard. LA and Kobe, on the other hand, have a home court advantage and a 70% negative history to win back to back playoff finals, making it a muggy picture. But we know they wont give up that easy!
