LeBron James did not fail to leave his mark in his last Olympics appearance in 2012 and was terrific throughout the campaign. During the quarter-final game against Australia, James tallied 11 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists to become the first player from Team USA to record a triple-double in the Olympics.

Team USA thrashed Australia 119-86, as expected, and LeBron James was the focal point of the team's play throughout the game. He made sure everyone was involved and got himself into the mix when needed.

It wasn't an easy win despite the scoreline, as USA struggled to keep up in the first half. But led by LeBron James and Kobe Bryant's stellar showings in the second, Team USA were able to secure a huge win.

#1 LeBron James won the 2012 USA Basketball Athlete of the Year award

LeBron James' staggering performances in the 2012 Olympics saw him win the 2012 USA Basketball Athlete of the Year award, which was his highest individual honor for the team thus far. He ranked in the top three for multiple statistical categories for the team and was a key player in helping Team USA sync together after they struggled in the initial phase of the tournament.

LeBron James became just one of two players in the history of the game to win the MVP, NBA Championship and the Olympics in the same year, joining Michael Jordan. He is only the third player from Team USA to play in three different Olympics at the time.
