The LA Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets faced off against each other on Christmas Day. Both teams were at full strength, so it was all set to be a thriller.
LeBron James scored 39 points in the game. However, his efforts were not enough as the Nets edged past the Purple and Gold to grab a 122-115 win on the night. The four-time NBA champion looked in great offensive flow, as he scored at 56% efficiency. However, his team's lack of defensive stability cost them the game.
#1 LA Lakers vs Portland Trail Blazers - 43 points
LeBron James was in sensational form throughout the month of December. He averaged 30.7 PPG, 9.3 RPG and 6.5 APG in 14 appearances.
However, his performance against the Portland Trail Blazers on New Year's Eve was a special one. The 37-year-old dominated the game, scoring 43 points in just 29 minutes of action.
LeBron James shot the ball 16-26 from the field, and also drained five shots from beyond the arc to give the Purple and Gold a blowout win over the Trail Blazers.
