Born in July 1997 Lindy Waters III is a Kiowa-American basketball player who plays for Detroit Pistons in the NBA. The 6 feet 6 inch Waters was born in Boulder, Colorado and plays as a shooting guard/small forward. Lindy Waters III attended Norman North High School. However, he later transferred to the Sunrise Christian Academy but a few months later he again returned to Norman North High School and re-joined the basketball team there and played a crucial role in helping his team reach the title game. After this in 2015, Waters committed to play college basketball for Oklahoma State. As a freshman Colorado born Waters averaged 5.7 points per game for the Oklahoma Cowboys basketball who reached the NCAA Tournament that year. During his sophomore year, Waters averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. Water's declared for the 2020 NBA draft but went undrafted. Subsequently, Waters decided to join Enid Outlaws in The Basketball League. In 2021 Lindy Waters joined the Oklahoma City Blue and owing to his great performances in February 2022 he signed a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Thunders.

Later in February 2024, he signed a multi-year deal with the Thunder. In June 2024 the Golden State Warriors traded their 52nd draft pick in the NBA drafts for Waters III, However after a few hours Waters was again traded for some additional cash compensation. In February 2025, Lindy Waters III was traded to the Detroit Pistons in a 5-team blockbuster trade involving the star Jimmy Butler who was traded to the Golden State Warriors. Waters III made his debut for the Pistons against the Chicago Bulls on 12 February and played 9 minutes in his first game as a piston. Lindy graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management.
