List of all NBA and WNBA players who won big at 2024 ESPYs ft. Jaylen Brown and Caitlin Clark

Jaylen Brown and Caitlin Clark headlined the NBA and WNBA stars who hit it big at the 2024 ESPYs held in Los Angeles on Thursday. The awards saw teams and athletes from across different sports honored for their performances throughout the past year. The marquee event was hosted by tennis icon Serena Williams and also featured notable presentations from Golden State Warriors superstar Draymond Green and UConn standout Paige Bueckers.

There was enough glam quotient as well with Jaylen Brown and WNBA star Kysre Gondrezick showing up together, leaving social media in a tizzy. Add Williams' monologue about Clark and Larry Bird and LSU women's basketball player Flau'jae Johnson dropping bars, the star-studded event was quite the hit.

On that note, here's a look at the NBA and WNBA names that walked home with massive honors at the 2024 ESPYs.

Best NBA player: Luka Doncic

Leading up to the event, there was a string of awards announced prior. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic won the Best NBA Player award to become the only Mavs player after franchise legend Dirk Nowitzki to win the prestigious award.

The WCF Finals MVP had a stellar run this past season, and while Dallas missed out on winning the 2024 NBA Finals, the Slovenian pipped competitors Denver's Nikola Jokic, Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum.

Best College Athlete Women's Sports: Caitlin Clark

It's more silverware in Caitlin Clark's trophy cabinet as she won the Best College Athlete Women's Sports at the ESPYS. The former Iowa Hawkeyes guard who was No. 1 in this year's draft class and was lapped up by the Indiana Fever was nominated for two more categories.

Best Breakthrough Athlete: JuJu Watkins

Following her electric freshman season with the Trojans, Southern California guard JuJu Watkins won the Best Breakthrough Athlete. Her numbers were the second-best behind Clark as she averaged 27.1 points per game and led USC to their first Elite Eight appearance since 1994.

Best Championship Performance: Jaylen Brown

Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown has had quite the season. He won the ECF and the NBA Finals MVP this past season. Now, he walked away with the Best Championship Performance award for his stellar season with the Celtics that ended with the franchise winning its 18th championship.

He became the second NBA player after Luka Doncic to win an award at the ESPYs on Thursday.

Best Athlete Women's Sports: A'ja Wilson

Amid what can be rightly called an MVP-esque run, Las Vegas Aces forward and 2x WNBA champion A'ja Wilson was adjudged Best Athlete Women's Sports. She beat fellow nominee Caitlin Clark in the category.

This season, Wilson leads the league in points (26.9) and blocks (2.7) per contest, while her 11.3 rebounds per game are second in the WNBA behind Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.

Best WNBA Player Award: A'ja Wilson

It was a big night for A'ja Wilson as the 27-year-old also won the Best WNBA Player Award that was announced on the red carpet. Wilson pipped Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier, New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart, and Connecticut Sun's Alyssa Thomas and the feat marks the second year the Aces forward has won the marquee award.

Bill Walton and Jerry West honored

While it was Luka Doncic and Jaylen Brown headlining the modern-day NBA talent, winning silverware, the late iconic stars Bill Walton and Jerry West were given their recognition as well.
