In 2019, Houston managed to add Harden's former teammate, Russell Westbrook, to their squad. By doing so, they had two of the last three MVPs on their roster. Harden claimed the honors in 2018, while Westbrook achieved the feat in 2017.

Unfortunately, the Rockets couldn't get past the eventual champion LA Lakers in the second round of the 2020 NBA Playoffs. The duo of Westbrook and Harden failed to win the NBA title and decided to go their separate ways after their campaign ended.

It's no secret that LeBron James has always enjoyed playing alongside some of the best players in the NBA. In the 2017-18 season, the Cavs' star power declined after the departure of Kyrie Irving.

They tried several options at point guard during the season and former Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose was among them. After battling each other for years in the Eastern Conference, James and Rose joined forces during the 2017-18 campaign.

That partnership did not last long, though, as the two former MVPs played only 16 games together. The 2011 MVP, Rose, had been heavily plagued by injuries, which eventually saw him get traded to another team. It was the second time James had paired up alongside a league MVP winner after Shaquille O'Neal (2009).

The Golden State Warriors were the most dangerous team in the NBA between 2014 and 2020. The talent they had at their disposal was simply exceptional and the Dubs only improved their squad with each passing year.

In 2016, they acquired Kevin Durant from the OKC Thunder. KD paired up alongside three All-Stars - Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green as the Warriors had the best superteam at the time.

Durant's addition meant they had two former MVPs in their ranks, with Curry having won the award in 2015 and 2016. That Warriors team comprising Durant, Curry, Thompson and Green won two NBA titles together in 2017 and 2018 and made the Finals for three consecutive seasons between 2017 and 2019.
