Carmelo Anthony's move to the Lakers is in doubt

Carmelo Anthony was expected to link up with LeBron James in Los Angeles

Due to his declining status in the NBA, Carmelo Anthony is expected to be available on a veteran's minimum deal this summer. Due to his friendship with LeBron James, many executives believed that Melo would head to Los Angeles to link up with the superstar, although James Harbert of CBS Sports questions whether the Lakers will make a move:

Another offensive-minded forward cut loose by Houston and harmed by the league-wide emphasis on defensive versatility. While there has been noise about the Lakers for obvious reasons, count me as skeptical about that fit.

After a busy week of incomings, the Lakers have few roster spots remaining, and Anthony's role on the team would be minimal. Nevertheless, Anthony himself may be pushing for a move, and could still be an option as the season progresses.
