Lakers not among front runners to land elite free agents

Kawhi Leonard is among the offseason's most in-demand free agents

The Lakers have the cap space to add an All-Star in free agency, and the team has been strongly linked with the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and Jimmy Butler. However, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA's elite FAs are not considering the Lakers as a potential destination this summer:

This is an organization that is in a win-now mode with LeBron James. They've got to find, and very likely via trade, a co-star for LeBron, because right now they are not a front-runner or even really a major consideration among any of the elite free agents.

If they don’t get Anthony Davis, they’re going to have a hard time putting a team on the floor next year that LeBron is going to be happy about.
