Malcolm Hill is a professional American basketball player who last played with the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA and is a free agent as of December 2024. Hill attended Belleville High School East in Illinois under head coach Abel Schrader, where, as a junior, he averaged 21.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game. According to his college profile, he was also part of the IBCA All-Star Game, scoring 23 points for the 3A/4A South Guard. Hill finished his high school career with 2,067 points, earning him the spot of all-time leading scorer for Belleville, according to his college profile. He was named St. Louis Post Dispatch All-Metro Player of the Year and was ranked No. 62 nationally by Rivals.com and No. 66 by ESPN. Completing his high school education, he joined the Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball team, which represents the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He scored 1846 career points and 647 rebounds, the second player in Illini history to achieve that. Hill was named a two-time Second Team All-Big Ten.

Hill, after remaining undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft, played for the Star Hotshots of the Philippine Basketball Association, averaging 26.0 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. He later signed with Telekom Baskets Bonn of the German Basketball Bundesliga in 2017 and joined MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in 2018. He has also played for BC Astana of the Kazakhstan Championship, averaging 20.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, and Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. On October 25, 2021, Hill signed a contract with the Birmingham Squadron to play in the NBA G League as an affiliate player. As of December 2024, he has played 47 NBA G League regular-season games, scoring 962 points and getting 273 rebounds as of the 2023-24 season as per Sports Reference. He was named to the All-NBA G League Second Team in 2024. In the NBA, Hill has played 24 games, averaging 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, as of December 22, 2024. He was waived by the Pelicans on October 21, 2024.
