Marina Mabrey is a professional American basketball player with a listed height of 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) who is playing for the Connecticut Sun as of September 2024. She started her WNBA career in 2019 when she was picked by the Los Angeles Sparks as the 19th pick overall in the second round of the 2019 WNBA draft. Mabrey showed her presence on the court in 31 games with the Los Angeles Sparks during her first season with an average of 4.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists. Before starting the 2020 WNBA season, Marbey was traded from the Sparks to the Dallas Wings for a 2021 second-round draft pick. She had an average of 10.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 19 games out of 22 games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was then traded to Chicago Sky on February 11, 2023. She announced that she will be playing the inaugural season of Unrivaled, a new women’s 3x3 basketball league.

Mabrey was born on September 14, 1996. She attended Manasquan High School in Manasquan, New Jersey. She was part of two winning teams that lifted the state Tournament of Champions and received most valuable player honors in the McDonald’s All-American Game in the year 2015. Mabrey decided to join her sister’s college, the University of Notre Dame for her college career. She played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women’s Basketball team and won her first ” Rookie of the Week” in the month of November 2015. While playing for Notre Dame in her first season, she made 35 appearances, scoring 85 three-pointers. She helped her team reach the Elite Eight for the season 2016-17. Mabrey graduated from her college in 2019, being a record holder for most three-pointers with 274, ending with 1,896 points in her collegiate career, and ranking sixth for Notre Dame.

Marina Mabrey, daughter of Patti Mabrey and Roy Mabrey, was born and raised in Belmar, New Jersey, along with his two brothers, Roy Mabrey and Ryan Mabrey, and two sisters, Michaela Mabrey and Dara Mabrey. Mabrey is also known as “Mar” since it's her nickname and is often called by her fans and her teammates. Mabrey’s mother, Patti Mabrey, was also a basketball player back in her days; she also has 20 years of youth basketball coaching experience, and along with that, she was also appointed as a referee for 10 years in high school youth basketball games. Patti Mabrey is now an assistant coach for an independent basketball academy known as Next Basket Wins. Roy Mabrey, Marina's father, is the head coach of the women's basketball team at ASA College in Miami, Florida, as of August 2024. Roy played Division II basketball at St. Anselm College. In addition, Dara and Michaela, Marina's siblings, are players for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team.

Marina Mabrey achieved many accolades, including the Champions Lega Basket Femminile in 2022-23, the 2022–23 EuroLeague Women Third place, the Douglas BBL Elite Division champion in 2020, and the Winner Coppa Italia in 2023.
