His breakthrough came on February 10, 2023, when he earned his first career start following Mason Plumlee's trade.

In that same game, he posted a stat line of 21 points and 24 total rebounds. His performance in high school basketball culminated in his selection as a 2020 McDonald's All-American, one of the highest honors for high school basketball players in the United States.
