Later, Marshall contributed to Duke's 2015 NCAA title win as a backup center to five-star athlete Jahlil Okafor.

In the 2016 NBA Draft, Marshall went undrafted but his dedication to the sport earned him a spot with the New York Knicks on a two-way contract for the 2016-17 season, where he played 21 games. After a brief stint with the Milwaukee Bucks, his NBA career ended with 29 games.
