The Clippers’ center Mason Plumlee has had a solid NBA career since being drafted 22nd overall by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2013 NBA Draft. As a four-year player at Duke University, Plumlee was known for his athleticism and rebounding ability. With the Nets, he made an immediate impact, averaging 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game his rookie season while playing 17 minutes per contest. His performance earned him NBA All-Rookie First Team honors, making him the first Nets player to receive the distinction since Brook Lopez in the 2008-2009 season.

Plumlee continued to develop his game with the Nets over the two seasons, increasing his scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks and field goal percentage each year. However, his breakout campaign came when he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2015.

As a Blazer, Plumlee started at center and averaged a double-double in points and rebounds during the 2016-2017 season. He also dished out 4.0 assists per game that year, showcasing his excellent court vision and passing abilities out of the post. During his Blazers tenure, he recorded a memorable 12 assists, 10 rebounds one block and 3 steals against the Pistons in 2016, becoming the first Portland big man with 10+ rebounds and 10+ assists in a game since Mychal Thompson in 1984.

In February 2017, Plumlee was traded to the Denver Nuggets where he continued his solid production as a starting center. After four seasons in Denver, he signed with the Detroit Pistons in 2020 and spent one year as their starting pivot. Plumlee then joined the Charlotte Hornets in 2021 on a three-year deal.

After two and a half seasons in Charlotte, Plumlee was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in February 2023 in exchange for Reggie Jackson. He finished the 2022-2023 season having played 79 combined games for the Hornets and Clippers, averaging 10.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while shooting an efficient 68.0% from the field.

Now 30 years old, Plumlee looks to help lead the Clippers on a deep playoff run during the 2023-2024 campaign.
