Matas Buzelis is still trying to find his spot on the Chicago Bulls rotation, making the most of the opportunities he's received in recent games. The former No. 11 overall pick faced another fellow rookie in Jared McCain on Sunday, as he tried to help the Bulls beat the Philadelphia 76ers to bounce back from a Friday loss to the Indiana Pacers.
Buzelis played nine minutes in the first half of the game and was involved in the team's offense. The former G League Ignite player entered halftime with five points after shooting 2-for-5 from the field, although he missed his three 3-point attempts and made his lone free-throw show.
While Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic and Josh Giddey led the Bulls in scoring with 13, seven and seven points, respectively, Buzelis had a solid first half, contributing to the team, even though they entered halftime down eight points.
Matas Buzelis saw more playing time in the second half, clocking in 15 more minutes. He remained active and attempted a couple of more shots, but struggled to get things going. The Philadelphia 76ers entered halftime with an eight-point lead that they managed in the second half to secure the win despite a second-half comeback attempt from the Bulls.

Zach LaVine tried to lead Chicago to the win with a 30-point performance (10-for-20 from the field, 6-for-13 from deep and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line), but no other player was able to score even half of his points, which ultimately left the door open for the 76ers to get the 108-100 win over Chicago.
Buzelis finished the game with five points after shooting 2-for-7 from the field, 0-for-5 from deep and 1-for-1 from the free throw line. He added three rebounds and one block to finish the matchup.

Matas Buzelis still trying to find consistency during rookie season
Matas Buzelis started December by posting intriguing games, including a 20-point game against the Brooklyn Nets and an 11-point outing against the San Antonio Spurs. After those solid matchups, he struggled to get things going, scoring eight and five points, respectively, in the last two games. The Bulls haven't been able to win either game and now boast a 10-15 record.
Buzelis is still seen as the future of the franchise, but he hasn't been as consistent as desired. The Bulls will have a lot of free time this week, as they will return to action on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.
