The Arizona forward chooses to stay with the Portland Trail Blazers, after accepting the $33 million deal for four years. Earlier on, the Dallas Mavericks had offered Thybulle the same contract, but the Blazers matched the same offer and inducted the forward into their roster.

Thybulle's in-game energy is insane and can shoot open threes whenever required but he needs to work on his offensive skills, especially on his consistency.

Matisse Thybulle holds dual citizenship, one of Australia and second of America. He was brought up in Australia and spent his early years of basketball within the nation. He also represented the country in the 2020 Summer Olympics. An impactful performance was seen from the forward, where he acted as a two-way player and fostered the team to win a bronze medal in the Olympics. They defeated Luka Doncic-led Slovenia for the Bronze medal match. The forward is also on the new roster for Australia for the 2023 Basketball World Cup.

He went to the University of Washington for his college ball and has been a key player for the team. His field goal percentage has also improved as he advances to the senior year and foul shooting has always been the overall strength for the forward.
