The 6 ‘5’’ guard is an Australian player who represents the Senior National Team in international competitions. Currently, the guard is continuing his basketball journey with the Portland Trail Blazers and extended his term with the team in the 2023 free agency by accepting a $33 million deal for the next four years.

The guard holds dual citizenship of Australia and America, he spent his initial childhood years in Australia and played basketball there for seven years before moving to the USA. In the beginning, Thybulle was interested in both Swimming and basketball but continued with the basket in the long run.

Thybulle has been an alumnus of the Washington Wizards and has demonstrated quality play manners and stats during his college ball. In 2019, he was acknowledged as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Prior to the Blazers, the guard played for the Philadelphia 76ers (6 years) along with MVP Joel Embiid and James Harden and acquired the right game understanding from them. He was one of the best defenders in the team and was also validated in the NBA Defensive Team two times.

Coach Brian Goorjian has also selected the guard on the new roster of Australia for the 2023 Basketball World Cup in the Philippines, co-hosted by Indonesia and Japan.

The 6’5’’ guard wears the Number 04 jersey for the Portland Trail Blazers. He has also worn the 22-number jersey for the Philadelphia 76ers. Additionally, he connects both the numbers like 2+2 = 4, where 2+2 represents 22, which is his earlier number, and 4 is his new number with the Sixers.

For the very first time, Thybulle donned the Australian Boomers jersey in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He said that it is a proud moment for him to represent the country on a global level.

A profound performance was seen from the guard, where he acted as a two-way player for the team and helped them to win a bronze medal in the Olympics. They defeated Luka Doncic-led Slovenia for the Bronze medal match.
