Max Strus is a professional American basketball player who plays in the NBA for the Cleveland Cavaliers as of March 2025. Strus remained undrafted in the 2019 NBA draft but was signed by the Boston Celtics for the 2019 Summer League. After the summer league, he signed a two-way contract with the Celtics on July 22, 2019, but was waived later on. He joined the Chicago Bulls on October 22, 2019, and played two games for them before getting sidelined because of a knee injury.

After a year, Strus was signed by the Miami Heat and was ready to set his foot on the court again. He averaged 6.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in the NBA 2020-21 season. Strus played three seasons with the Miami Heat before signing a four-year contract worth $63 million with the Cavaliers. As of March 24, 2025, Strus is playing his second season with the Cavaliers and has already posted 1,241 points and grabbed 516 rebounds for them in the NBA.

Max Strus initially started his collegiate career at Lewis University in 2014. He joined the Lewis University basketball team, known as the Lewis Flyers and started playing for them. In his debut game, Strus faced Northern Michigan on December 14, 2014. He posted 13 points, two assists, one rebound, and two steals. Strus averaged 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in his freshman season. He excelled in his sophomore year as he scored 666 points and 278 rebounds as per Sports Reference. Strus transferred to DePaul University and joined their basketball team. He posted his college career best of 43 points against the St. John's on March 3, 2019.

Strus played two seasons with the DePaul Blue Demons and he averaged 18.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Strus' scoring average per game is fourth in DePaul history. He was awarded with various accolades in his college career. Strus was named to the first team Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2016 when he was in Lewis and received the second-team All-Big East in 2019.

Max Strus attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. As a sophomore, he averaged eight points per game, which led to him being named the Regional Reporter All-Area Second Team. Strus in his senior year averaged 19.0 points and nine rebounds per game as per his college profile. He was also a three-year varsity letter winner for Stagg in both basketball and baseball. He was also awarded the IBCA All-State Third Team, All-Southwest Suburban Conference, Regional Reporter Player of the Year, Southtown/Star All-Area and many more accolades.
