Memphis Grizzlies vs Boston Celtics: Key players

Ja Morant

Ja Morant created quite a stir when he said he was avoiding dunks to safeguard his body from injuries. While it must have saddened fans, it’s arguably better for the guard in the long run. Morant didn’t have the best of games against Sacramento and scored just eight points in 28 minutes on 2-of-13 shooting.

If Memphis is to have any chance of upsetting the defending champions, Morant needs to be at his best, with or without dunks.

Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum has well and truly taken the MVP jump that pundits expected of him before the start of the season. In 22 games this season, he is averaging 28.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.3 steals.

With enough support around him in the form of Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, the Celtics become almost unbeatable when Tatum has a good game. That very well might be the case against the Grizzlies.
