The top two teams in the Western Conference will battle each other in their final fixture of 2024, as the Memphis Grizzlies travel to the OKC Thunder. Both teams will enter the game in similar situations, on winning streaks.

The Memphis Grizzlies have been strong in December, Defeating the New Orleans Pelicans and the Toronto Raptors in their last two games. They have only suffered three defeats this month. The OKC Thunder, on the other hand, has lost two games all month, with their last defeat coming in the NBA Cup Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Currently, on a five-game win streak, the side returns to the Paycom Arena after defeating the Indiana Pacers and the Charlotte Hornets on the road. Sitting atop the Western Conference standings, the Oklahoma City team has a four-game lead over the Grizzlies with a record of 25 wins and 5 losses.

The Tennesse team has been a strong contender this season, after a slow start. Winning 3 of their first 6 games the Grizzlies have since won 10 games in November while recording nine wins in December. This upturn in form has seen the team climb up the rankings while boasting a record of 22 wins and 10 losses.

Memphis Grizzlies Predicted Starting Lineup and Depth Chart

The Memphis Grizzlies have six players on the sidelines due to various ailments. Their biggest star, Ja Morant, will be the biggest miss on the night as the guard is set to miss the game against the Thunder with a shoulder injury.

GG Jackson II, Vince Williams Jr., Marcus Smart, and Santi Aldama are all out for the fixture against the OKC with pre-existing injuries. Brandon Clarke, on the other hand, suffered a knee injury and is questionable for the game but could still play as he is on day-to-day observation.

The starting five should see Scotty Pippen Jr., Desmon Bane, Jaylen Wells, Jaren Jackson Jr, and Zach Edey.

OKC Thunder Predicted Starting Lineup and Depth Chart

The OKC Thunder have a worse injury crisis when compared to the Memphis Grizzlies as they have eight players out with injuries at the time of writing. Chet Holmgren is the biggest name sitting out for the Thunder after suffering a right iliac hip fracture against the Warriors in November.

The list also includes the likes of Alex Caruso, Nikola Topic, Adam Flagler, Alex Ducas and Luguentz Dort. Cason Wallace and Branden Carlson are also out currently but could be available for their match against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.

The starting five for the OKC Thunder should include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein.

Memphis Grizzlies vs OKC Thunder Head-to-Head

The final meeting of 2024 between the Memphis Grizzlies and the OKC Thunder will be their 106th match up in NBA history. Historically, the Oklahoma team has gotten the better of the Memphis Grizzlies, winning 70 out of the 105 games between them.
