Mike Edward Tobey is a basketball player from America and Slovenia. He has been selected to play for the Kosarkaski klub Crvena zvezda in the Basketball League of Serbia, the EuroLeague and the Adriatic League.

Born in Monroe, New York, United States on October 10, 1994, Mike Tobey has been playing basketball since he was very young. He won the Spanish League in 2017. He also won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in 2017. He also won the EuroCup in 2019. He has become a notable presence in basketball in Europe and continues to impress his fans with his basketball skills.

Team Slovenia has chosen Mike Tobey as one of its members for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Charlotte Hornets

This is the team that Mike Tobey started his professional basketball journey with. He signed with the team on October 25, 2016 but he was released after playing 2 pre-season games. Mike Tobey then went to the Greensboro Swarm of the NBA G League, known for its affiliation with the Charlotte Hornets.

In 2017 although Mike Tobey returned to the Charlotte Hornets, he went back to the Greensboro Swarm after the expiry of his 10-day contract. This was also the eventual end of his NBA basketball career for now.

Valencia Basket Club, S.A.D.

Mike Tobey joined this club during the 2016-2017 Liga ACB season. Here, he was notable for becoming the Liga ACB Champion with the team despite being injured before the playoffs. He scored 5.3 points, 0.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds in that season.

Unfortunately, he was released by Valencia Basket after the conclusion of his contract.

Iberostar Tenerife (Lenovo Tenerife)

The third team of Mike Tobey’s basketball career, he joined for the 2017-2018 Liga ACB season. With this team, Mike Tobey won the FIBA Intercontinental Cup by defeating Guaros de Lara with a score 76-71 on September 24, 2017. He was honored as being the MVP of the game.

Mike Tobey also scored 24 points, considered to be his career highest back then against their opponents Urbas Fuenlabrada (Carplus Fuenlabrada) on December 23, 2017. Apart from this, he also scored two double-doubles by defeating Gaziantep on January 10, 2018 and UCAM Murcia on March 14, 2018 during the 2017-2018 Basketball Champions League. He scored 10.6 points, 0.6 assists and 6.3 rebounds for the team. Soon after, he left the team as Valencia Basket was offering him more than Tenerife. Resultantly, he signed a 2-year contract with Valencia Basket.

Valencia Basket Club, S.A.D.

Mike Tobey started his second stint with the Valencia Basket. He played an important role that helped Valencia Basket win their basketball games against Alba Berlin, Fenerbahce Beko and Zenit Saint Petersburg during the EuroLeague. On November 21, 2019, he scored his first double-double in a game against Khimki with a score of 89-84 in the game. This also led Valencia Basket to extend his contract for two more years.

In EuroLeague 2020-2021, Mike Tobey became the best performer for Valencia Basket in their winning game against Anadolu Efes with 21 points and 8 rebounds. He scored his second double-double in EuroLeague in a game against FC Barcelona on January 7, 2021.

FC Barcelona Bàsquet

Mike Tobey next joined FC Barcelona for the 2022-2023 season. He impressed everyone with his basketball skills. He is notable for scoring 5.9 points and 2.4 rebounds. He also played for 14 minutes in each of those games in the season.

Kosarkaski klub Crvena zvezda

After his career with FC Barcelona, Mike Tobey will now be playing for Crvena zvezda in the Basketball League of Serbia, Adriatic League and the EuroLeague. He will play with them for a year as per the contract that he signed on July 14, 2023.

Slovenia National Basketball Team

Mike Tobey is a member of team Slovenia on the national level. However, he has also played for team United States on a national level In 2013, alongside the US team, he participated in the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Czech Republic. He gained a gold medal for his efforts.

Mike Tobey wanted to participate in the Olympic Games. He gained a Slovenian passport for this. He joined the Slovenian national team for the 2020 Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. On June 18, 2021, he helped Slovenia defeat Croatia. During the Olympic Games, he played a crucial role in helping Slovenia reach the semi-finals. After the Olympics were over, he was regarded as one of the best basketball players of Slovenia.

Now, Mike Tobey has joined team Slovenia once again for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
