Minnesota Timberwolves vs Detroit Pistons preview

Minnesota is coming off of a 118-115 loss to the Boston Celtics on Thursday. Julius Randle had 27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Anthony Edwards had just 15 points.

Edwards voiced his frustration at being double-teamed and unable to score at a clip he would have liked, saying (via Yahoo Sports):

"That's a good brand of basketball, but it's not how I want to play, of course. I'm only 23, I don't want to just be passing the ball all night. ... But the way that they're guarding me, I think I have to."

The Timberwolves are on a two-game losing streak and have split their past 10 games. They are 8-9 on the road, which is likely to improve on Saturday.

Detroit, meanwhile, has won two games straight and seven of its past 10. It will play the second leg of a back-to-back after defeating the Charlotte Hornets 98-94 on Friday. Tobias Harris had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Cunningham had 18 points.

Edwards’ points total is set at 24.5, which is the same as his season average. Following a frustrating outing against Boston, bet on the former No. 1 pick to come out strong and go over 24.5 points.

Meanwhile, Cade Cunningham’s points total is set at 24.5 as well. He has crossed that mark just once in the past five games and is unlikely to do so on Saturday.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Detroit Pistons prediction

The oddsmakers favor the Timberwolves to get a win on the road. While we expect the same, they might not cover the spread. This should be a relatively high-scoring game, with the team total going past 217.5 points.
