Sunday's Minnesota Timberwolves vs New York Knicks game was the third of the preseason for each team. The game had a special meaning since it was the first time Karl-Anthony Towns faced his former team after being traded to New York a few weeks ago.

Despite Anthony Edwards' 31 points, the Timberwolves succumbed to the Knicks and his talented starting five that ended the game with four players scoring in double digits. Donte DiVincenzo also faced his former team, scoring 15 points and even trash-talking the Knicks' bench as he took a free throw. New York is now 3-0 in the preseason while the Timberwolves are 2-1 following this 115-110 result.

This Minnesota Timberwolves vs New York Knicks had an entertaining start, with two players showing they were ready to take over the duel and will their respective squads to a 3-0 start to the postseason.

The Timberwolves bounced back in the second quarter, scoring 36 points against the Knicks' 29. Anthony Edwards scored 14 points to finish the first half with 18 while DiVincenzo extended his account to 11. OG Anunoby only added three more points in the second quarter and Jalen Brunson woke up and entered halftime with 15 points under his belt.

Anthony Edwards continued his great night with 13 more points in the third quarter, keeping the Timberwolves close to New York despite the Knicks having four of his five starters scoring in double digits. The fourth quarter started with multiple changes for both teams, finishing the game for several starters.

The Knicks ended up taking the 115-110 win over the Timberwolves behind Jalen Brunson's 24 points. OG Anunoby added 19 points while Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively. Landry Shamet was the best scorer off the bench with 13 points while Cam Payne and Miles McBride added 12 each.

Anthony Edwards finished his night with 31 points. Donte DiVincenzo and Naz Reid added 15 points apiece. The Knicks stay unbeaten after three games and the Timberwolves go down to 2-1.
