Victor Moritz “Mo” Wagner is a basketball player from Germany. A Forward-Center, he is on the Orlando Magic team in the NBA.

Born on April 26, 1997 in Berlin, Germany, Mo Wagner is the older brother of basketball player Franz Wagner. He played basketball in Germany before deciding to come to the United States. He was the Big Ten Tournament MOP in 2018. Additionally, He was also a member of the Second team All-Big Ten in 2018. Mo Wagner has been considered to be a talented basketball player from Germany because of how he handles himself on the basketball court. Furthermore, he has acclaimed praise for his performance in national competitions for Germany.

Los Angeles Lakers

Mo Wagner started his professional basketball career with this team. He stayed with the team for the 2018-2019 season. He made his debut against the Orlando Magic on November 17, 2018. He was notable for scoring 10 points and helping his team win the game against the Phoenix Suns with a score of 120-96 on December 2, 2018.

Mo Wagner went on to score his season high 22 points in a losing game to the Boston Celtics with a score of 107-120 on March 9, 2019. He remained with the team until he was traded by the Los Angeles Lakers to the Washington Warriors on July 9, 2019.

Washington Wizards

Mo Wagner's next stop in his basketball career was the Washington Wizards. Here, he became the first NBA player to score 30 points and 15 rebounds in 26 minutes on November 15, 2019. The last player to do this was Yao Ming in 2002. Furthermore, he was also the first NBA player who scored 30 points and 15 rebounds alongside 4 three point shots off the bench.

However, he suffered from an ankle sprain and missed some of his games for the team. During the 2020 NBA All-Stars Weekend, he was notable for scoring 16 points on behalf of the world team. He kept up his performances for the team until March 25, 2021, when the Washington Wizards traded him to the Boston Celtics.

Boston Celtics

Mo Wagner found himself with the Boston Celtics team next in his basketball career. He helped the team win their game against the Milwaukee Bucks by scoring 3 points and 5 rebounds and a score of 122-114 on March 26, 2021. Despite this, he was released by the Boston Celtics on April 16, 2021.

Orlando Magic

This is Mo Wagner’s 4th and present NBA team in his basketball career. With his team, he scored a season high 24 points on May 1, 2021. He also helped the Orlando Magic to win their game against the Memphis Grizzlies by knocking down a 3-pointer, thereby tying the game at 109 with 16 seconds remaining. Consequently, the Orlando Magic won with a score of 112-111 against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Orlando Magic in return signed him to a 2 year contract worth $3.6 million.

Since then, he has been playing for the Orlando Magic and impressing fans. Despite being suspended and fined a few times in his career, he managed to keep his consistency on the court. As a result, he signed a 2 year contract worth $16 million with the team on July 11, 2023. This contract also includes a club option for 2024-2025.

Germany National Basketball Team

Mo Wagner is a member of team Germany on the national level. As a junior, he participated in the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship Division B in Bulgaria and won a gold medal for his efforts. Additionally, he also participated at the 2017 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship in Greece. There, he was declared the leading scorer for team Germany.

As a senior he participated with team Germany in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Croatia and was honored with the MVP award. During the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Mo Wagner scored 11 points per game for his team.

Mo Wagner has now been chosen as one of the members of team Germany in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
