Born on June 27, 1995, in Grand Rapids Michigan, Monte Morris plays as a backup point guard in the NBA. He grew up in Flint, Michigan and was childhood friends with Kyle Kuzma.

Morris attended Flint Beecher high school, where he led his team to multiple state championships. He was the leader in points, assists and steals in all four seasons and was named Michigan's Mr. Basketball in his senior season. He became the fifth athlete in Beecher’s history to have his number retired.

As one of the nation's best point guards and a four-star recruit, Morris played college basketball for the Iowa Cyclones. In four years of college, Morris led one of the most efficient offenses in college basketball, and had one of the best assists to turnover ratio. He averaged 12.2 points, 5.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Morris helped the Cyclones reach the NCAA tournament all four times and also won the Big 12 tournament thrice. He was named on multiple first and second All-Big 12 teams and was awarded the MVP of the Big-12 tournament in the 2016/17 season.

The Denver Nuggets selected Monte Morris with the 51st overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Since then, he has also played for the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
