#1 He hasn't taken his career seriously
Dwight Howard is known as one of the biggest jokers and fun-loving guys in the NBA, although many have pointed to this as one of the biggest factors in his downfall. Joel Embiid has recently demonstrated the perfect balance of fun and willingness to win, however, Howard continues to struggle with the latter. The 32-year-old has never shown his determination to succeed, and he has all too often seemed content to have fun and collect his paycheck, no matter what the outcome.
Howard's lack of will to win was highlighted when he completed a move from the Magic to the Lakers in 2012. The center immediately clashed with Kobe Bryant due to the Lakers legend's demanding nature, and instead of raising his work ethic and game, Howard quickly wanted out and left after just one season.

Howard is now nowhere near the dominant force that he was between 2007 and 2012, and his career is seemingly nearing the end. No team with serious playoff ambitions will want a player that brings with him so much drama, although Howard still deserves a future place in the NBA Hall of Fame, and hopefully, NBA fans will remember his peak years rather than the drama and decline that followed.
