The Philadelphia Sixers started the season in an impressive way and were 7-6 when they visited Los Angeles to take on the Lakers at the Staples Center. Joel Embiid had a monster game and stuffed the stat sheet to help the 76ers beat the Lakers.

Embiid started the game with a mid-range jumper, before following it up with an open three-pointer to give the 76ers, a one-point lead. In the second quarter, with the Sixers up by 4 at the 9:08 mark, he had a huge block on Corey Brewer.

The 2017 NBA All-Star was very efficient from the field and went 14-for-20, including 2-for-3 from long range. He was also attentive on the defensive end and had seven blocks. The Sixers won the game, 115-109.
