#3 Special Roster Additions: One last dance for Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki
NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that icons Dwayne Wade and Dirk Nowitzki will get one last moment of All-Star Game glory and each will be a special roster addition. The two will be chosen in a special third round of the All-Star draft to honour all they have done for the NBA. This season is the last one for Wade, having announced it before the season had began, while Nowitzki is yet to publicly state that this is his last season.
This season, the 40-year-old German is coming off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks and is averaging career lows of 4.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Dwayne Wade, 37, is averaging 13.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game as he continues to contribute for the Heat as a reserve. The two have twice faced off in the NBA Finals, with Wade's Heat winning in 2006 and Nowitzki's Mavericks claiming the title in 2011.

LeBron James has the top pick in the third round, which will be the one that includes Nowitzki and Wade, who has been a long time friend and confidante to LeBron James. This was a really big surprise that the NBA commissioner dropped on all of the NBA community and it is a superb gesture to honour 2 of the biggest stars in the NBA history.
