The NBA All-Star Weekend is an annual event showcasing the most talented or favorite professional basketball players in the league. First held in 1951, it has become a flagship part of the NBA calendar, drawing together the league's biggest stars for some non-stop entertainment.

This year, the NBA All-Star game is returning to a classic East vs. West format, pitting players from the Eastern Conference against those from the Western Conference. So we'll get to see familiar old rivalries played out with All-Star talent reflecting the current state of the NBA. The league is going back to the traditional conference alignment after experimenting with player team format, where captains chose teams without regard to conference.

Over its history, the NBA All-Star Weekend has been hosted in many iconic basketball venues across the United States. From Madison Square Garden in New York to the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the excitement and star power of All-Star Weekend has come to raise the profile of pro basketball in cities throughout the league. Later in this article, we’ll take a look back at future cities that will host the NBA All-Star Weekend.
