#4 James Harden
After getting snubbed for MVP award multiple times in his career, James Harden finally got his hands on one of the most coveted individual trophies for his stellar performances in 2017-18 regular season. Playing alongside Chris Paul, he carried the team to the Conference Finals but could not get it done against the Warriors.
He averaged career-high 30.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game and subsequently won the scoring title for the first time in his career. This season, even though the Rockets struggled early in the season, Harden was great and came up big with consistent performances.

The defending MVP is currently leading the league in points per game with 32.3. At one point of time, it looked like the Rockets' season is headed towards a disaster but Harden managed to steer the ship and they are currently at the seventh spot in West with a 18-15 win-loss record.
