Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers remained atop Sportskeeda's Most Improved Player (MIP) rankings after Week 11 of the NBA season. Mobley has been a strong candidate for the award due to his improved offense and stellar defense.
Meanwhile, Jalen Williams of the OKC Thunder and Jalen Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks fell down the rankings for different reasons. Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat and Cade Cunningham moved up the ladder after strong performances.
Several players are knocking on the door of the Top Five, including Norman Powell of the LA Clippers and Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.

On that note, let's look at the Most Improved Player rankings for the week brought to you by Sportskeeda.
NBA Most Improved Player Rankings - Week 11
#1 - Evan Mobley | Forward | Cleveland Cavaliers
- Last Week's Ranking: No. 1
- Average (Week 11) - 19.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 1.8 APG, 0.8 SPG, 1.8 BPG
- Average (This Season) - 18.8 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 2.8 APG, 1.0 SPG, 1.5 BPG
- Average (Last Season) - 15.7 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 3.2 APG, 0.9 SPG, 1.4 BPG
Still No. 1 on the Most Improved Player power rankings, Evan Mobley maintained his spot after another solid week for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mobley's best game was a completely dominant performance against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 3.
Mobley had 34 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in two minutes. He was also named the Kia Defensive Player of the Month, helping the Cavs finish Week 11 with a 4-0 record.
#2 - Cade Cunningham | Guard | Detroit Pistons
- Last Week's Ranking: No. 5
- Average (Week 11) - 25.7 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 7.7 APG, 1.0 SPG, 0.7 BPG
- Average (This Season) - 24.1 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 9.5 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.8 BPG
- Average (Last Season) - 22.7 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 7.5 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.4 BPG
Cade Cunningham made a big leap from fifth to second in this week's Most Improved Player rankings. Cunningham helped the Detroit Pistons to a 3-0 start in 2025.
The former No. 1 pick had 40 points, six rebounds and nine assists against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. He also has the Pistons sitting ninth in the East with a 17-18 record.
#3 - Tyler Herro | Guard | Miami Heat
- Last Week's Ranking: No. 4
- Average (Week 11) - 21.3 PPG, 2.7 RPG, 4.3 APG, 0.3 SPG, 0.0 BPG
- Average (This Season) - 23.8 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 5.1 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.1 BPG
- Average (Last Season) - 20.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.5 APG, 0.7 SPG, 0.1 BPG
The latest odds favor Tyler Herro to win the 2025 NBA Most Improved Player of the Year. Herro has turned into the number one option for the Miami Heat this season, but the drama within the organization might have affected his play in Week 11.
Miami went 2-2 last week, but they have a lot to look forward to following Jimmy Butler's suspension and trade demand. The Heat is Herro's team now, so fans should expect him to produce more for the rest of the campaign.
#4 - Jalen Williams | Forward | OKC Thunder
- Last Week's Ranking: No. 2
- Average (Week 11) - 15.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 5.3 APG, 2.0 SPG, 0.5 BPG
- Average (This Season) - 20.9 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 5.1 APG, 1.8 SPG, 0.7 BPG
- Average (Last Season) - 19.1 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 4.5 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Jalen Williams dropped from second to fourth in this week's Most Improved Player power rankings. Williams was still solid as a rock for the OKC Thunder during their 4-0 run in Week 11.
The main reason why he went down the ladder is his total production for the Thunder. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has completely taken over the team, but that's alright since it's effective. They are currently on a 15-game winning streak.
#5 - Jalen Johnson | Forward | Atlanta Hawks
- Last Week's Ranking: No. 3
- Average (Week 11) - 19.0 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 1.0 APG, 0.0 SPG, 1.0 BPG
- Average (This Season) - 19.8 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 5.3 APG, 1.5 SPG, 1.1 BPG
- Average (Last Season) - 16.0 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 3.6 APG, 1.2 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Jalen Johnson went from No. 3 to No. 5 this week after playing just one game for the Atlanta Hawks. Johnson was hampered by a shoulder injury in Week 11, so his status for the next Most Improved Player rankings is unclear.
Players such as Victor Wembanyama and Norman Powell are ready to enter the conversation. Wembanyama is having a tremendous season, possibly on his way to earning his first All-Star berth.
