NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) ladder race 2024-25 season: Top 5 candidates ft. Victor Wembanyama (Week 11)

The NBA 2024-25 season continues past the 35-game mark and at least one new name manages to make the Top 5 NBA MVP candidates. Our weekly NBA MVP ladder sees a new name replacing Giannis Antetokounmpo. Second-year center Victor Wembanyama's rich run for the San Antonio Spurs makes him one of the players to have made the weekly cut.

Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell hang on to the fifth and third spots, while Nikola Jokic's videogame numbers put him in second place. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander takes the No. 1 spot. Also deserving a mention is LeBron James, who after turning 40 continues to set and break records as the LA Lakers surge to fifth in the West.

While the 4x NBA champion came close to earning a top-five spot, he misses out with Wembanyama and Tatum edging him out.
