#2 Reports suggest T-Wolves' asking price for Jimmy Butler too high
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe reported together on Thursday that Minnesota's asking price in exchange for Jimmy Butler seems to be far too high.
The team has been in talks with multiple teams, according to earlier reports but The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor had something interesting on his appearance on The Bill Simmons' Podcast:

"One of the things that I've heard from a handful of sources is that—with the Sixers for example—the initial offer that they made, the counter-offer was like, 'We need Ben Simmons in a deal.'"
According to the ESPN report, it's the asking price that is holding up any possible deal that the Timberwolves could make. Woj tweeted a small excerpt from the report:
Now, the last line in the tweet is interesting because according to Woj, from a couple of days ago, Tom Thibodeau did try to convince Butler in a second meeting but the All-Star forward remained unchanged on his request for a trade.
Let's give Thibodeau the benefit of doubt and consider the fact that he and his team might really not be happy with what they are receiving in return. Unfortunately, he has no option otherwise his job will be on the line. In a report published last Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski reported once again that the T-Wolves franchise owner wants Butler traded as soon as possible.
