#2 Patrick Patterson gave up millions to exit the Oklahoma City Thunder

Back in June, Patrick Patterson opted into the final year of his three-year deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, following the departures of Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and Jerami Grant, Patterson agreed to a buyout with the Thunder last week.

While details of the early termination were not initially reported, Bobby Marks of The Athletic is reporting that the 30-year-old gave up more than $3.5 million to exit Oklahoma City:

Patterson joined the Thunder back in 2017, following an impressive spell with the Toronto Raptors. Nevertheless, Patterson's two-year spell with the franchise was underwhelming, and the veteran struggled for form and fitness.
During the 18-19 season, the power forward averaged less than 15 minutes per game during the regular season, and barely featured after the Thunder signed Markieff Morris.
