Kawhi Leonard and Paul George join the Clippers; Russell Westbrook blamed for George's desire to leave the Thunder
The Los Angeles Clippers not only managed to sign Kawhi Leonard in free agency, but they also acquired Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a blockbuster trade. The trade for George came out of nowhere, and while the Clippers are giving up an array of first-round picks, the addition of the 2019 MVP nominee makes the team immediate contenders.
PG13 only signed a new four-year deal with the Thunder last summer, although Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that OKC felt compelled to trade their All-Star following a breakdown in his relationship with Russell Westbrook.

With the Thunder now heading towards a rebuild, Russell Westbrook's own future with the franchise will come under immediate scrutiny. The 2017 MVP will turn 31 later this year, and it is unlikely that he will want to stick around on a team that isn't in the playoff picture.
