However, Davis signed a five-year, $145 million contract extension with the Pelicans in July of 2015, which will amount to a little over $27 million for the upcoming season in LA. The trade with the the Lakers became official on July 6, 2019.

He also has a player option worth $28,751,775 in the following season if he decides to extend his stay at the Lakers franchise. AD is eligible to become a free agent in the offseason of 2020.
