#6 Miami Heat - Record: 17-6
The Miami Heat have managed to extend their excellent start to the campaign into Week 8 of the season, and it is now time to treat them as real contenders. Erik Spoelstra's team has still yet to experience defeat at home, and Jimmy Butler is excelling alongside a hugely talented young core. With games to come against the Lakers and Mavericks, the Heat have the opportunity to further highlight their status as contenders in the East.

#5 Los Angeles Clippers - Record: 17-7
The Clippers have finally started to hit top form over the past two weeks, although a 28-point loss to the Bucks was a concern. Nevertheless, Kawhi and Co. managed to bounce back on Sunday night by dispatching the Wizards as George and Leonard combined for 61-points. This week, they face road games in Indiana, Toronto, Minnesota, and Chicago, although Doc Rivers' side should have enough quality to secure at least three wins.
#4 Dallas Mavericks - Record: 16-7
The Dallas Mavericks started the week with impressive wins over the Pelicans (twice) and Timberwolves, although they fell to a surprise defeat on Sunday night against the Kings following a bad first-half performance. However, with Luka Doncic in MVP form, the Mavericks should be fine as they host the Pistons and Heat over the next seven days.
